Grace Senior Living Residents Honored at ‘King & Queen of Hearts Ball’
Bill Burnham and Sarah Garrett Crowned King and Queen, Respectively, at Annual Ball Hosted by Grace Senior Living of Douglasville
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (April 02, 2015) – Grace Senior Living honored residents during its annual ‘King & Queen of Hearts Ball’, held on Thursday, February 19. Residents voted Bill Burnham as King, and Sarah Garrett as Queen.
“People forget how lonely others can feel around Valentine’s Day. Hosting a ballroom dance gave our residents an opportunity to feel young again,” said Karen Cabral, executive director of Grace Senior Living. “We were so excited to give our senior residents this red-carpet treatment.”
Grace Senior Living staff members helped each resident pick out special clothes and jewelry for the ball. Dressed in their best Valentine’s attire, Grace Senior Living residents spent the evening dancing with family and friends.
Burnham is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from John Marshall Law School in 1953. He served in the Korean War and returned to be a valued member of the Firestone Tire Company. He is also a 36th Degree Mason (Shriner). He has two daughters and one son.
Garrett was born and raised in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. She is a retired bank teller and was an active member of her community. She has two sons and just recently moved to Douglasville, Georgia, to be close to her children.
“We loved making each of our residents feel special and seeing them light up. These types of events are what we love to do at Grace Senior Living because of how they enrich the lives of our residents,” Cabral said.
