Grace Senior Living Ladies Shine During ‘Presentation of the Sweethearts’ Pageant
29 Seniors Recognized for Particular Talents and Personality
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (March 31, 2014) – In its first “Presentation of the Sweethearts” pageant, 29 residents of Grace Senior Living were honored in a special rose ceremony attended by family and friends on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Each lady was escorted by a student from Mercer University to a rose arbor specially built for the occasion, where they posed for pictures.
“We ladies need to feel special sometimes, even as we age. We were so excited to give our lady residents this red-carpet treatment,” said Jan Williams, administrator of Grace Senior Living.
Each resident was voted a special title (complete with red sash) corresponding to her particular talents and personality, such as “Mrs. Smiling Sweetheart” and “Mrs. Fashionable Sweetheart”.
Makeup samples for the pageant were donated by Merle Norman of Douglasville so that each lady would have something special to wear.
Grace Senior Living staff members helped each lady pick out special clothes and jewelry, and fixed her hair.
“We loved making each of our lovely ladies feel special and seeing them light up. Even the shyest lady had a big smile as our emcee, Mike Pigg, was reading about her life, and when she had her picture taken under the rose arbor. These types of events are what we love to do at Grace Senior Living because of how they enrich the lives of our residents,” Williams said.
